50K & 100K Route Setup

Provide assistance to Mark Spurlock in setting up the 50K & 100K routes from Buffalo Gap through Tuscola with signs and road markings. 7 am to 12 noon. Meet in Buffalo Gap

Thursday evening Pavilion area setup

Need 2 people to string lights around the pavilion, put out the trash cans in good spots, put liners in them if possible.

Tour de Gap Route Setup

Packet Pick Up Shift #1

Packet pick up for Tour de Gap's pre-registered participants takes place at BikeTown from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Packet Pick Up Shift #2

Packet pick up for Tour de Gap's pre-registered participants takes place at BikeTown from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.

Packet Pick Up Shift #3

Packet pick up for Tour de Gap's pre-registered participants takes place at BikeTown from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Packet Pick Up Shift #4

Packet pick up for Tour de Gap's pre-registered participants takes place at BikeTown from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

Meet Trainham Ice delivery at Old Settlers Grounds in Buffalo Gap

Must visit with Bill Minter (325-829-0617) Wednesday prior to Friday for instructions. Timing will vary depending on driver's schedule.

Volunteer Check-in Coordinator

This position will be checking in the various volunteers on Saturday for the TdG and providing them the appropriate info documents and/or directions on where they need to go

Rest Stop Equipment Delivery

Assistance in setting up the five rest stops before Saturday's rides, departing from the pavilion area at 4:30 am. Mark Spurlock is your contact

Rest Stop Equipment/Supplies Preparation

You will be preparing ice chest &coolers for delivery to the 5 rest stops. This will require loading ice chest, coolers, tents, tables, chairs to vehicles that will set up the rest stops

Rest Stop Food Prepration

This requires preparing the various food items that are needed at the 5 rest stops for the volunteers that will be registration area to p/up supplies and go to their appropriate rest stop

Rest Stop Supply Distribution

Required to deliver supplies to the various rest stops if they call back to registration area and inform us that they are in need of additional supplies. This would only be to 2 of the 5 rest stops

Registration - Checking in pre-registered riders and day-of registration

Assistance is needed with the registration process, including checking in pre-registered riders and facilitating day-of registration, from 5:30 to 7:30 AM.

Ticket Sales - Shift #1

Support is required for selling tickets throughout the ride for a special bike related item with the drawing scheduled at the end, between 6:30 and 9:30 AM.

Rest Stop #1 - Jim Ned ISD High School (parking lot)

Volunteers will be responsible for picking up all necessary supplies and be at this rest stop by 7:30am. Finished when the 50K support vehicle comes thru approx 9:30 am.

Rest Stop #2 - US Hwy 83/CR173

Closed

Volunteers will be be responsible for picking up all necessary supplies and be at rest stop by 7:30am. You should be finished when the 100K support vehicle comes by the 2nd TIME. Approx 10:30 am

Rest Stop #3 - Moro VFD CR184

Closed

Volunteers will be be responsible for picking up all necessary supplies and be at this rest stop by 7:30am. You should be finished when the 100K support car comes thru by approx 10:30

Rest Stop #4 - Shift 1 @ Lemon Gap Rd/CR207

Volunteers will be be responsible for picking up all necessary supplies and be at this rest stop by 7:30am. Your shift will be finished at 10:30 when Shift #2 volunteers arrive

Rest Stop #4 - Shift 2 @ Lemon Gap Rd/CR207

Your role will involve staffing at this rest stop & including returning all supplies to the pavilion after the 100K support vehicle comes through the 2nd time. Approx 12:30. Course closes at 1pm

Rest Stop #5 - Shift 1 @ FM613/Lemon Gap Rd/Rode Ranch Rd

Closed

Volunteers will be be responsible for picking up all necessary supplies and be at this rest stop by 7:30am. Your shift is complete when shift #2 arrives at 10:30 am

Rest Stop #5 - Shift 2 @ FM613/Lemon Gap Rd/Rode Ranch Rd

Your role will involve staffing at this rest stop & including returning all supplies to the pavilion after the 100K support vehicle comes through the 2nd time. Approx 12:30. Course closes at 1pm

11 Mile SAG support car driver & assistant

You will be using a car w/a bike rack following the last rider on the 11 mile route. If any rider needs assistance you can p/up rider. We recommend having an asst to help but not necessary

50K Lead Pack Driver

IMPORTANT - if interested in this position please contact Mark or email us. This has special requirements.

50K SAG Support Driver

You will be following the last rider on the 50K Course from start to finish. Must have a truck/SUV to support bikes. If any rider needs to be p/up you may do so or call back to base for assistance

100K Lead Pack Driver

This position requires leading the 100K riders out from the start line and continuing on the 100K course as the lead riders break away from the main pack. Sheriff Deputy will be in front of you.

100K Lead Pack Assistant

You will be riding in the 100K lead car and providing an extra set of eyes as the lead car drives ahead of the lead pack in the 100K ride

100K Lead Pack SAG Support Driver & Assistant

Once the 100K Lead pack breaks away from the 100K riders, you will position your vehicle behind the riders and continue on the entire 100K course. You will be in contact w/the 100K Lead pack driver.

100K SAG Support Driver

You will be following the last 100K riders from start to finish. SUV/Truck is required. If any riders needs assistance you can p/up them or call back to base for assistance. An assistant - optional

Responsible for notifying motorists about the presence of riders on the road and ensuring riders make a safe right turn on CR127. Shift is 7:00 to when the 50K SAG support vehicle comes by @ 9 am

Responsible for notifying motorists about the presence of riders on the road and making the motorist stop or slow down. You are finished when the 50K SAG Support vehicle comes by at approx 9 am

There are 2 intersections within 100 yards of each other and will require course marshals for monitoring motorist. Riders will be make a right turn then a left turn. 7 am to approx 9:30 am.

50K Riders will be approaching this intersection from the east. Monitor traffic so that riders can make a safe right turn. You are finished when the 50K SAG - approx time 9:30-10am

Course Marshal #6 Shift #1 - Lemon Gap Rd/CR207 (course marshals will have an instruction pdf)

Shift #1 7am to 10am. Riders will be coming through this intersection first from the south going N and then from the west turning South. Monitor traffic to ensure riders make safe turns.

Course Marshal #6 Shift #2 - Lemon Gap Rd/CR207 (course marshals will have an instructional pdf)

Shift #2: 10am-100K SAG vehicle comes thru the 2nd time. Riders will be coming from the west and turning right then make a loop and turn left. monitor traffic so that riders can turn safely

Course Marshal #7 - FM613/Lemon Gap Rd/Rode Ranch Rd (Course Marshal will have a pdf)

11 mile riders will be coming from B. Gap and turning right. Monitor traffic to ensure riders can make a safe turn. A Sheriff Deputy will be arrive at approx 9am Shift ends at about 9:30am

Finish Line Spotter (located Cherry St/FM89 at the Buffalo Gap City Hall

All riders will be turning right at this intersection. You will radio back to Jim the bib # so that he can announce the riders name as they cross the finish line

Route Signs Removal

After the ride is finished, you will drive the course and remove any caution - turn signs that are on the course and return them to the start/finish area

Clean Up at Pavilion

Take down and equipment tables and chairs as well as collect any trash from 12:30 to when job is completed - approx 1:30 pm

Clean up at Bike Town

Help in cleaning up & storing the ice chests, coolers, and various other items at Bike Town
