A 300km out-and-back ride from Silver City to Truth or Consequences (formerly known as Hot Springs) in southern New Mexico. Route cross the Black Range twice at Emory Pass (8,140') with a turn-around point at Elephant Butte dam. Truth or Consequences has some 24hour services, but supplies are generally limited on the route. The ride will pass through several small historic towns on lightly travelled state highways.
